Homefield Hero is a 2D platformer with a football at the heart of every level. The goal sounds simple: take the ball with you and get it into the goal at the end. Getting there is where things become interesting.
You run, jump, dribble, slide and shoot your way through the level while the ball rolls, bounces and reacts to the world around it. Lose it, and getting it back can become a challenge of its own.
And then there are the clubs.
Real amateur football clubs can become part of Homefield Hero. Their colors, crest and details from their real home ground help shape their levels. That means an ash pitch can feel different from grass or artificial turf, and every club can bring a little bit of its own identity into the game.
The screenshot above shows one of those club-inspired moments with Rot-Blau. Homefield Hero is still growing, and there is plenty more I want to add. New levels, new ideas and probably a few things that will behave very differently from how I originally planned them. That’s part of the fun.
